TIME magazine this week released its 2025 list of Best Inventions, highlighting two alt-meat companies among 300 other products and ideas accelerating global innovation.
Sacramento-based food tech company The Better Meat Co. was recognized for its Rhiza mycoprotein as a sustainable food alternative. The ingredient is made by feeding sorghum and potato side streams from French fry factories to microbes, using biomass fermentation to create a meat-like texture.
