German retail giant Lidl has extended the reach of its hybrid minced product to its stores in Belgium, the company said last week.
The blend of plant-based protein and minced beef first was sold through Lidl's Dutch supermarkets beginning last summer.
The product combines 60% beef and 40% vegetable protein, and the retailer reports the product looks and tastes like conventional mince and makes up to 40% lower carbon dioxide emissions.
