Protera Biosciences, a protein engineering company that uses AI, and Israel-based ICL Group Ltd., a global specialty minerals company, have partnered to develop functional protein-based ingredients.
Through the partnership, ICL and Protera intend to develop and commercialize protein-based ingredients using precision fermentation.
The resulting ingredients — which may include texturizers, stabilizers and preservatives — are intended to act as clean-label replacements for chemical additives while also improving the sensory properties in plant-based foods. …
